OK, folks, I admit it, I’m a geek.

What do you mean, you knew that already?

And me who thought you saw me as a stylish but slightly dangerous dandy!

Anyway, I love history and architecture and wonderful things. So naturally I love everything about the world’s 7 wonders. The only problem is that the original wonders have all disappeared, destroyed by wars, earthquakes, fires etc… except one: The Great Pyramid of Kheops in Giza. It’s therefore high time we found new – existing – ones.

A very serious organization is collecting your votes on the internet to select the 7 wonders of the Modern Era. You have until July 7th to vote! I’d really like to know which monuments will make it on your list. Extra brownie points to those of you who will put the Eiffel Tower on their list!

Now, make history and vote here. It’s an order!

And when you’re done, you can go there and select the 7 wonders of Kansas City.

  1. What a wonderful idea – and of course I’ll vote for the Eiffel Tower – I LOVE the Eiffel Tower. In fact, I collect memorabilia and images of it!

Personally, I think you, Frog, are one of the seven wonders – let’s see, you are cute, funny, French, and love Madonna and Wonder Woman, you’re a geek (well, a little bit), and love to travel. I say you are perfect!

My 7 votes: Eiffel Tower, Anghor, the Great Wall, Pyramids of Giza, Machu Picchu, Statue of Liberty (French, of course), and Stonehenge.

  2. Thanks Jeffrey, you’re too kind. Thank God, you have a blog otherwise people would probably think I had invented you, just like some think that I have invented the fact that my mother blogs.
    😉

  3. My vote: Angkor, Chichén Itzá, Great wall of China, Machu Picchu, the pyramids of Giza, and I waver between the last 2: Colosseum, Stonehenge, Taj Mahal and la tour Eiffel… difficult….
btw, love Marsoupiote’s blog makeover 😉

  4. You know, last night I looked and looked and looked and cannot decide…will sleep on it for a few days. Def the Eiffel Tower though and also Macchu Pichu and the pyramids..but the rest? Pffft!

  5. But so many of those structures are ancient. Ah, it’s not the age of the structure but what us modernites think of them that counts. However, since there’s nothing S African there, I’m not going to vote. *SULK*

I’m sure you know all about Maputo’s Eiffel building?

    And
